Welcome to the
2020 Pan-Mass Challenge
Last year I reached a milestone in my life. I became a senior citizen! Where has the time gone? I have been blessed and honored to have so many great friends and family supporting me over the past 21 years. Your generosity has been the foundation of my successful fundraising. But 62 is only a number… why stop now?
This year I have chosen to do the one-day ride of 113 miles from Sturbridge MA to Bourne MA. I have signed on with a commitment to raise $4500 by October 1st.
The PMC was founded in 1980 by Billy Starr. This annual bike-a-thon has crossed the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on the first weekend of August for the past 40 years. With the help of 119,068 committed riders, 72,044 volunteers and thousands of corporate and individual contributors, the PMC has raised an astonishing $717 million for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. All of this money goes straight to doctors and researchers to give them the resources they need to discover cures.
In the words of Billy Starr, “I know that you, like me, have found a place in the PMC to make a strong philanthropic statement, one that reflects your values and aspirations for a world without cancer. I think we recognise that it’s a long haul, but together we have proven capable of seeding research and treatment on a massive scale, and possibly shortening that road. It’s a road worth travelling together.”
I look forward to honoring your loved ones battling cancer and those we have already lost. Send me their names and as always I will place them on my riding jersey, and hold them close to my heart as we cross the finish line.
If you would like to sponsor me, please check out my donate page for more information.
If you’d like more information on the PMC, you can visit my About page, or their website at pmc.org.
I’m also on Facebook, so add me as a friend and say hello!
